It’s been a few years since I took an Ansys course, so I decided to refresh my memory. Most of my work is as software developer, so I need to make sure my Engineering skills remain sharp. This week I completed the Getting Started with Ansys Mechanical short course, and, since it didn’t have a final project, I created one for myself: I performed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) a drone frame created with CopterCAD! It is a very simple and maybe not realistic problem: arbitrary weight assigned at the center and fixed supports where the motors would be. It did, however, reinforce the lessons from the course and gave me new impetus to make the frame generation in CopterCAD more user friendly.
